1. Who we are

2. What we collect
Account data: name, email, password hash, country preferences. Subscription data: plan, renewal date, payment-processor identifiers (we do not store full card numbers — payments are processed by Stripe). Usage data: pages viewed, listings opened, filter selections, device and browser type, IP address. Communications: messages you send us through the Contact page or email.
3. Why we use your data
To deliver the Service (showing relevant listings, filtering by country/visa). To operate subscriptions (billing, renewals, receipts). To send transactional emails (account, payment, security). To send opt-in product updates (you can unsubscribe at any time). To improve the Service through aggregated analytics. To prevent abuse and meet legal obligations.
4. Legal bases (UK/EU users)
Performance of the contract you have with us (account, subscription). Legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, basic analytics). Your consent (marketing emails, non-essential cookies). Legal obligation (tax records, lawful requests).
5. Cookies & analytics
We use a small number of essential cookies (login session, CSRF protection) and a privacy-respecting analytics tool to count page views without building cross-site profiles. You can manage cookie preferences from your browser. We do not run advertising trackers.
6. Sharing your data
We share data only with vetted processors: our hosting provider, our payment processor (Stripe), our transactional email provider, and our analytics tool. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to advertisers, recruiters, or anyone else. Employers see only the information you choose to send when you click "Apply" — usually nothing more than your visit on their own site.
7. International transfers
Some processors operate outside your country. Where personal data leaves the UK/EU, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
8. Retention
Account data: kept while your account is active and for up to 24 months after closure for fraud prevention and tax records. Subscription invoices: kept as required by tax law (typically 6–10 years). Marketing preferences: kept until you unsubscribe. Contact-form messages: kept for up to 24 months.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the Contact page. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority (e.g. the ICO in the UK).
10. Security
We use TLS in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive fields, hashed passwords (bcrypt), and least-privilege access for our team. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password and enable any future multi-factor options we add.
11. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
12. Changes
We will update this policy when our practices change. Material changes will be notified by email or an in-app banner.
